Ingredients:
- 1 lb ground turkey
- 1 onion, diced
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 celery stalks, diced
- 3 cloves of garlic, minced
- 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 teaspoon dried basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
- Fresh parsley for garnish
- Grated Parmesan cheese for serving
Preparation:
- Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the Monsieur Cuisine on the sauté function.
- Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Remove the turkey from the Monsieur Cuisine and set aside.
- Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the Monsieur Cuisine.
- Add the diced onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
- Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
- Return the browned turkey to the Monsieur Cuisine.
- Pour in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
- Cover the Monsieur Cuisine with the lid and set the cooking time to 20 minutes at 200°C.
- If using red wine, add it to the ragú after the cooking time has elapsed. Stir to incorporate.
- Allow the ragú to simmer for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
- Serve the ragú over cooked pasta, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
