Albóndigas are a classic dish that can be found in many different cuisines around the world. This recipe puts a unique twist on the traditional meatball by steaming them to perfection in a Thermomix. The result is tender, juicy meatballs that are bursting with flavor. The addition of a creamy pine nut sauce takes this dish to the next level, making it a perfect choice for a special dinner or a cozy family meal.
Ingredients:
- 500g ground beef
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- 2 garlic cloves, minced
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 egg
- 1/4 tsp paprika
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the Pine Nut Sauce:
- 1/2 cup pine nuts
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1/4 cup olive oil
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1/4 cup chicken broth
- Salt and pepper to taste
Preparation:
- Step 1: In a large bowl, mix together the ground beef, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, paprika, salt, and pepper until well combined.
- Step 2: Shape the mixture into small meatballs and place them in the Varoma dish of your Thermomix.
- Step 3: Fill the mixing bowl with 500ml of water and place the Varoma dish on top. Set the Varoma temperature to Varoma and steam the meatballs for 20 minutes.
- Step 4: While the meatballs are cooking, prepare the pine nut sauce. In a blender, combine the pine nuts, Parmesan cheese, olive oil, parsley, chicken broth, salt, and pepper. Blend until smooth and creamy.
- Step 5: Once the meatballs are cooked, remove them from the Varoma dish and place them on a serving platter.
- Step 6: Pour the pine nut sauce over the meatballs and garnish with additional parsley, if desired.
- Step 7: Serve the steam-cooked albóndigas with pine nut sauce hot and enjoy!
