Ingredients:

  • 1 lb ground turkey
  • 1 onion, diced
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 celery stalks, diced
  • 3 cloves of garlic, minced
  • 1 can (14 oz) crushed tomatoes
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 cup red wine (optional)
  • Fresh parsley for garnish
  • Grated Parmesan cheese for serving

Preparation:

  1. Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in the Monsieur Cuisine on the sauté function.
  2. Add the ground turkey and cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon as it cooks. Remove the turkey from the Monsieur Cuisine and set aside.
  3. Add the remaining tablespoon of olive oil to the Monsieur Cuisine.
  4. Add the diced onion, carrots, and celery. Sauté until the vegetables are softened, about 5 minutes.
  5. Add the minced garlic and cook for another minute until fragrant.
  6. Return the browned turkey to the Monsieur Cuisine.
  7. Pour in the crushed tomatoes, chicken broth, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and pepper. Stir to combine all the ingredients.
  8. Cover the Monsieur Cuisine with the lid and set the cooking time to 20 minutes at 200°C.
  9. If using red wine, add it to the ragú after the cooking time has elapsed. Stir to incorporate.
  10. Allow the ragú to simmer for an additional 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together.
  11. Serve the ragú over cooked pasta, garnished with fresh parsley and grated Parmesan cheese.
