Unlock the Secrets of Dulce de Membrillo with MAMBO: A Traditional Spanish Treat
Description
Dulce de Membrillo, also known as quince paste, is a traditional Spanish treat that is enjoyed as a sweet accompaniment to cheese or spread on toast. Made from quince fruit and sugar, this delicious confection has a rich, sweet flavor and a firm, jelly-like texture. With the help of the MAMBO multi-cooker, you can easily unlock the secrets of making your own homemade Dulce de Membrillo.
Ingredients
- 2 lbs quince fruit, peeled, cored, and diced
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 lemon, juiced
- Water
Preparation
Step 1: Prepare the Quince
Peel, core, and dice the quince fruit. Place the diced quince in a bowl of water with lemon juice to prevent browning.
Step 2: Cook the Quince
Transfer the diced quince to the MAMBO multi-cooker. Add enough water to cover the quince and cook on the «Pressure Cook» setting for 10 minutes.
Temperature: High
Time: 10 minutes
Step 3: Blend the Quince
Once the quince is cooked, carefully remove it from the multi-cooker and transfer it to a blender. Blend until smooth.
Step 4: Cook the Quince Paste
Return the blended quince to the MAMBO multi-cooker. Add sugar and cook on the «Saute» setting, stirring constantly, until the mixture thickens and pulls away from the sides of the pot.
Temperature: Medium
Time: 30 minutes
Step 5: Cool and Store
Once the quince paste has reached the desired consistency, remove it from the multi-cooker and transfer it to a parchment-lined baking dish. Allow it to cool completely before cutting into squares or spreading on toast.
Store any leftover Dulce de Membrillo in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to two weeks. Enjoy this traditional Spanish treat with your favorite cheese or bread for a delicious and sweet snack.
