- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 3 tablespoons olive oil
- 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 baguette, sliced into thin rounds
- 150g goat cheese
- Fresh thyme leaves for garnish
Preparation:
Caramelized Onions:
- In the Monsieur Cuisine, select the «Fry» mode and add the olive oil.
- Add the sliced onions and cook for about 10 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they start to soften.
- Reduce the heat to low and continue cooking the onions for another 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are caramelized and golden brown.
- Stir in the balsamic vinegar and season with salt and pepper. Cook for another 5 minutes to let the flavors meld together.
- Remove the caramelized onions from the Monsieur Cuisine and set aside.
Assembly:
- Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
- Place the baguette rounds on a baking sheet and toast them in the oven for about 5-7 minutes, until they are crispy.
- Spread a generous amount of caramelized onions on each toasted baguette round.
- Crumble some goat cheese on top of the onions.
- Place the montaditos back in the oven for 3-5 minutes, until the goat cheese is slightly melted.
- Remove from the oven and garnish with fresh thyme leaves.
