- 2 tablespoons fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
- 3 tablespoons honey
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons cornstarch
Preparation
Step 1: Preparing the Meatball Mixture
In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, chopped onion, minced garlic, breadcrumbs, milk, egg, chopped parsley, dried oregano, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
Time: 10 minutes
Step 2: Shaping the Meatballs
Using your hands, shape the meat mixture into small meatballs, about 1 inch in diameter. Place the meatballs on a plate or baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
Time: 15 minutes
Step 3: Browning the Meatballs
In a large skillet, heat some olive oil over medium heat. Add the meatballs to the skillet and brown them on all sides until they are nicely caramelized.
Time: 5 minutes
Step 4: Preparing the Honey Sauce
In a separate bowl, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, tomato paste, and beef broth until well combined.
Time: 3 minutes
Step 5: Cooking the Meatballs in the Thermomix
Transfer the browned meatballs to the Thermomix bowl. Pour the honey sauce over the meatballs and close the lid. Set the temperature to 100°C and cook for 20 minutes on reverse, speed 1.
Time: 20 minutes
Step 6: Thickening the Sauce
In a small bowl, dissolve the cornstarch in a few tablespoons of water to create a slurry. Add the slurry to the Thermomix bowl and cook for an additional 5 minutes at 90°C on reverse, speed 1. This will thicken the sauce to a desired consistency.
Time: 5 minutes
Step 7: Serving
Once the meatballs are cooked and the sauce has thickened, carefully transfer them to a serving dish. Serve the meatballs hot, garnished with some fresh parsley. They pair perfectly with mashed potatoes, rice, or crusty bread.
